The BWI Business application has the ability to swipe the magnetic stripe on a Driver's License and automatically fill in the information as supplied.  This normally includes the full name, mailing address, description and driver's license number. 

This technology greatly increases the speed in entrying new customers, retrieving exisiting customers and helps to eliminate spelling errors.

BWI is currently using a three track Magnetic Stripe Card Reader from IDTech (MiniMag Magnetic Stripe Reader Keyboard Wedge or USB, Model IDT3331-33)

Magnetic Stripe Card Readers use a PS/2 connector with an optional keyboard wedge interface .  Readers are available with USB or serial interface, but these will not work for this application. 

Currently the best price available is from a US based supplier called Infinite Corporate Solutions.  They are also offer free shipping for Domestic US and Canada orders.

BWI has tested driver's license from British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Ontario and found these to work with our web site.  Other provinces and some states also provide their drivers with a driver's license card with a magnetic stripe, but those haven't been tested as of yet.
